Description
Carmignano Trefiano Riserva is a red wine produced by Capezzana in the hills of Carmignano, using a blend composed mainly of Sangiovese, with the addition of Cabernet and Canaiolo. The terroir of origin is characterized by clayey schist soils, which give the wine a particular complexity and structure.
The vinification takes place in steel tanks, where the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation for 7 days, followed by maceration for a further 13 days. The wine is then transferred to French oak tonneaux to complete malolactic fermentation and is aged for 18 months in wood, before being further refined in the bottle for at least a year.
Trefiano has an intense ruby red color and releases aromas of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, vanilla and licorice. On the palate it is harmonious and balanced, with a delicate tannic texture and a persistent finish that highlights spicy notes.
This wine pairs perfectly with meat dishes and mature cheeses.
