Description
Carmignano Poggilarca is Artimino's flagship wine, produced from a classic blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes grown in the municipality of Carmignano, in the province of Prato.
The grapes are fermented in steel vats at a temperature of 24 °C for 18-20 days. The wine is then aged for 10 months, half in Slavonian oak barrels and half in second passage barriques, after which it rests for 4 months in the bottle.
Intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The nose opens with a bouquet of red fruits and spices, including vanilla. In the mouth it is harmonious and satisfying, with firm tannins that fit perfectly into a fresh and balanced body.
It is traditionally paired with grilled red meats or game birds.
