Description
Cannonau Riserva di Olianas comes from very limestone soils with a clayey texture, from the Ruina Figu vineyard.
The manually harvested grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and then transferred to underground amphorae where spontaneous fermentation takes place with maceration of about 20 days. Aging takes place in French and Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months.
Intense ruby red wine, it releases clear hints of red berries and notes of myrtle and cocoa. On the palate it is powerful, warm and enveloping with thick and round tannins, balanced by a pleasant freshness. The finish is very long, with slightly sweet sensations and balsamic hints, supported by a pleasant sapidity.
Powerful and structured wine that goes well with red meat dishes, game and aged cheeses. Try it with lamb or pork chops in a myrtle oven.
