Description
The red wine È Iss from Tenuta San Francesco is made from pure Tintore di Tramonti grapes, hand-selected from century-old, pre-phylloxera vines grown on steeply terraced land in the heart of Tramonti, on the Amalfi Coast. The vines, trained using the traditional pergola system, are located at an altitude between 300 and 600 meters above sea level, benefiting from a cool climate with significant temperature fluctuations. The limestone-dolomitic soil, enriched with volcanic pyroclasts, gives the wine extraordinary minerality and complexity.
The harvest takes place between the end of October and the first ten days of November, with a steel fermentation that preserves the uniqueness of the grape variety. The aging continues for a period of 18 to 24 months in oak barrels, followed by another six months in bottle before marketing, ensuring a perfect balance between structure and freshness.
In appearance, it presents an intense ruby red color with purplish reflections. The bouquet is deep and elegant, with notes of underbrush, ash, graphite, and wild blackberry. On the palate, it is vibrant and flavorful, with a full structure and velvety tannins that enhance its strong and authentic character. The finish is long and persistent, confirming its extraordinary aging potential.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, game, and aged cheeses, enhancing their flavors with its intensity and complexity.
