Description

Motta del Lupo by Paolo Petrilli is a red wine produced in the Puglia region, obtained from a blend of Uva di Troia, Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Bombino. This wine reflects the characteristics of the Puglia terroir, thanks to the cultivation of the grapes on very calcareous soils, which give freshness and vivacity to the wine.

The vinification involves a soft pressing and destemming of the whole grapes, with fermentation in French and Slavonian oak vats and a part in steel at a controlled temperature. Pumping over and punching down are carried out to facilitate the extraction of aromas and tannins. The wine is then refined in steel, to maintain the freshness of the fruit and subjected to a light filtration before bottling.

It has a bright ruby red color. Elegant and fruity notes emerge on the nose, recalling fresh red fruits and a light spicy nuance. In the mouth it is balanced and fresh, with a good acidity that makes it lively and pleasant to drink.

This red wine pairs perfectly with pasta dishes with ragù, grilled white meats and fresh cheeses.
