Description
Tenuta Il Poggione has been present in the Montalcino area since the end of the 19th century and still today represents an essential point of reference, with an excellent production of wines. The winery is located south of the Montalcino area, in an area with a temperate climate and mitigated by the breezes that rise from the Tyrrhenian coast. Vigna Paganelli is the flagship label, produced only in the best vintages in a limited number of bottles.
The grapes are harvested in a vineyard planted in 1964, which produces few bunches of the highest quality. Fermentation takes place in steel vats with maceration on the skins for 3 weeks. The wine rests for 48 months in large oak barrels and completes the refinement in the bottle.
Ruby color with garnet reflections, it conquers with intense aromas of cherry, red fruits, notes of undergrowth, leather and soft spices. The taste is harmonious and rich, with subtle tannins and a balanced and very persistent finish.
To be combined with a cut of beef, roast meats or game.
