Description
Castello Romitorio's Brunello di Montalcino Riserva comes from the oldest vineyards located in the heart of the municipality of Montalcino.
It is produced exclusively with hand-picked Sangiovese grapes. Each plot is vinified separately in stainless steel tanks, with a short initial period of cold maceration with the skins for about 15-20 hours, followed by a higher controlled temperature maceration that can last up to 24 days. The malolactic fermentation lasts for about 10 days, then the wine matures in oak for about 36 months and then remains in the bottle for about 24 months before being put on the market.
This Brunello is characterized by a ruby red color. The nose opens with a fresh bouquet with hints of red fruits, enriched by pleasant spicy and mineral notes. On the palate it is pleasantly persistent, with smooth tannins and balanced acidity.
Perfect to accompany red meats, game and mushrooms, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses and as a meditation wine.
