Description
Biondi-Santi's Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2012 is dedicated to the unforgettable Franco Biondi-Santi, the gentleman of Brunello . It was born in the vineyards of the prestigious Tenuta Greppo, located in an area with an extraordinary wine-growing vocation for Sangiovese.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese Grosso grapes, a very popular variety in Tuscany, harvested in the second half of September. The vinification process takes place at a controlled temperature, at the end of which the wine is placed in Slavonian oak barrels, where it matures for 3 years. Once bottled, it rests for a further 6 months before being placed on the market.
It is a wine with a brilliant ruby red color. The bouquet is important and complex, with pleasant hints of dried rose, enriched by delicate notes of vanilla. On the palate it is harmonious and well structured, with an excellent balance between tannins and acidity. Sapid and persistent, it is a warm and enveloping wine.
Perfect to accompany savory first courses based on meat sauce, it is ideal in combination with red meats, especially grilled meats, stewed meats and game. It is also excellent with aged cheeses.
