Description
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio Antico is a prestigious red wine produced exclusively in the municipality of Montalcino, in Tuscany. This wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, grown on hilly terrain at an altitude of approximately 500 meters above sea level.
The vinification of this Brunello di Montalcino Riserva begins with a cold cryomaceration at 5°C for three days, followed by a three-week fermentation in conical stainless steel vats. After fermentation, the wine undergoes a further period of maceration and refinement takes place for 30 months in Slavonian and French oak barrels, followed by 30 months in the bottle before being released on the market. This long aging process contributes to the structure and longevity of the wine.
This wine stands out for its complex and enveloping aromas that recall notes of ripe berries, sweet spices, tobacco and dark chocolate. On the palate it presents a full body and an elegant tannic structure, balanced by a lively acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste that reflects its aromatic complexity.
It pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, game and mature cheeses, enhancing the flavors with its intensity and depth.
