Description

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio all'Oro is a jewel of the Banfi family, produced exclusively in great years and coming from a single vineyard. The 2016 vintage, characterized by a perfect climatic balance, guaranteed an optimal ripening of the Sangiovese grapes, thanks to the excellent temperature ranges and the good summer water availability.

The vinification takes place in combined steel and French oak vats, with fermentation at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged for a minimum of 30 months in French oak barrels and partly in barriques, developing exceptional complexity and structure.

Intense ruby red in color, it opens to the nose with sweet and complex notes of blackberry jam, tobacco, cocoa and balsamic hints. On the palate it presents itself with an important structure, balanced by a decisive acidity and well-integrated tannins, with a pleasantly long and harmonious finish.

Perfect to accompany rich and complex dishes, it is also ideal as a meditation wine.
