Description
The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento di Col d'Orcia is born in the vineyard of the same name located on the Sant'Angelo in Colle hill overlooking the Orcia river, in the heart of the municipality of Montalcino.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, harvested only by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for about 20-25 days, with daily pumping over. Subsequently, the wine is aged in barriques for 4 years and for a further 2 years in the bottle before being placed on the market.
Poggio al Vento is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with a broad, intense and persistent bouquet, with hints of wild berries, enriched by pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is elegant, with pleasantly soft and enveloping tannins. The wine has a long, savory and delicately fruity aftertaste.
Perfect to accompany game red meats, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
