Description
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Croce di Mezzo comes from the historic Villa de la Croce region of Montalcino, from a vineyard located 520 meters above sea level.
The harvest of only Sangiovese Grosso grapes takes place strictly by hand in boxes, with careful selection of the bunches. The must ferments at a controlled temperature with maceration for 20 days in contact with the skins. The wine matures in oak barrels for 36 months followed by further refinement for 8 months in the bottle.
Intense ruby red in color, it has an intriguing bouquet composed of vanilla and liquorice aromas that intertwine with persuasive notes of berries. The taste is dry, soft and harmonious, with a beautiful complexity that is expressed in silky tannins and an elegant and persistent structure.
It goes beautifully with grilled red meats and game, as well as with mature cheeses. Also worth trying as a meditation wine.
