The devastating power fills the glass with dark notes reminiscent of wild violet, sweet licorice, juniper berries, sour cherries in alcohol and wet earth. Full body, incredibly silky tannins that on the palate give a caress and an iconic finish that perfectly combines the power of volume with vertical progression. An exciting wine. Better from 2022.

Description

The Poggio Antico estate is located on the southern slope of Montalcino, in one of the highest areas of the territory of the denomination. The vines are cultivated at almost 500 meters above sea level, in an area with a cool climate and characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night temperatures. The calcareous, rocky and very draining soils allow Sangiovese to express itself with particular finesse.

At the end of the vinification process, the wine rests for at least 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and completes the refinement with 9 months in the bottle.

It is a Brunello with a classic and traditional face. In the glass it has a ruby color and to the nose it stands out for the elegance of the bouquet, which gives nuances of violet, morello cherry, wild berries and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub. The sip is smooth, with evolved tannins, complex aromas, pleasantly fresh and fragrant.

To be combined with a cut of beef, roasts or grilled meat.
