Description

The Brunello di Montalcino Castiglion del Bosco comes from the Capanna vineyard located in the north-west area of Montalcino. The estate is located in a splendid wild and unspoiled area, with vineyards surrounded by oak, holm oak and beech woods. The Vigna Capanna rises over 400 meters above sea level on the back of a sunny hill, characterized by a rocky terrain, rich in shale and marl.

The best Sangiovese grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats at a temperature of 28 °C, with maceration on the skins for 20 days. The aging of the wine takes place in French oak barriques and in large barrels of 30 and 50 hectoliters for a period of at least 2 years followed by ageing in bottle.

With a bright ruby red colour, it expresses a bouquet with elegant shades of violet, aromas of cherry, small red berried fruits and shady hints of undergrowth. The sip is complex and long, with silky tannins, ripe aromas and a very persistent finish.

To be combined with tagliatelle with wild boar sauce, sliced beef or roast game.
