Description

The Bourgogne Aligoté from Château de la Maltroye is a white wine made exclusively from Aligoté grapes, grown on clay-limestone soils in Burgundy. The estate extends over 13 hectares in Chassagne-Montrachet and 2 hectares in Santenay.

The vinification follows a traditional method with fermentation in oak barrels and frequent bâtonnage to increase the aromatic complexity and structure of the wine. The use of oak barrels for the aging of about 12 months gives richness of aromas, a creamy structure and brings elegant toasted notes.

This white wine is light gold in color with bright reflections. It presents a complex bouquet of white flowers, fresh fruit and a marked minerality, accompanied by notes of hazelnuts and butter deriving from the aging in wood. On the palate it is fresh and lively, with a persistent finish that highlights the purity and elegance of the terroir.

It pairs perfectly with fish dishes, shellfish, white meats and soft cheeses.
