Bordeaux AOC Blanc Y d'Yquem 2020 Château d'Yquem

Y d'Yquem (Ygrec) is the dry white wine signed by Château d'Yquem, produced only in selected vintages and obtained from an exclusive blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes. It comes from the same terroir and the same vineyards as the more famous Sauternes.

It is the result of meticulous work carried out in the vineyard. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are the first to be harvested, while the Sémillon grapes are expected to reach the maximum level of ripeness, i.e. in the first stages of rooting of the noble rot Botrytis cinerea. The winemaking processes are still influenced by the production tradition of the château but cutting-edge systems offered by modern technology are also used. The final phases of fermentation and refinement take place in barrels, 1/3 of which are new.

It has a brilliant golden yellow color and offers a complex aromatic bouquet that evokes floral, citrus and white peach sensations. The balance in the mouth is remarkable, expertly balanced between the vibrant freshness of Sauvignon Blanc and the enveloping complexity of Sémillon, finishing on a finish of rare persistence.

It goes beautifully with poultry, fish and seafood dishes. It is the ideal wine for special occasions in which to show off its timeless elegance.
