Description

The Bolgheri Superiore W Dedicated to Walter by Poggio al Tesoro originates from vineyards that extend along the famous via Bolgherese, in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci. This wine is dedicated to Walter Allegrini, in memory of the love and passion he dedicated to working in the vineyard and in this area.

It is produced with pure Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested by hand in small boxes during the last week of September. After careful selection and soft pressing of the grapes, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature and the malolactic fermentation occurs naturally in barriques. The ageing is carried out in French Allier oak barrels of first passage over 18 months.

The colour is very intense ruby red, with deep blackberry and blueberry sensations on the nose, followed by elegant balsamic and black pepper notes. On the palate it is powerful and structured, but at the same time a wine of great lightness and agility.

Suitable with meat and noble poultry dishes, it is perfect in the company of long-aged cheeses.
