Description

The Bolgheri Superiore of Tenuta Le Colonne is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, grown on soils composed mainly of skeleton and sand.

The vinification takes place in concrete with the use of indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in large, not toasted casks for at least 24 months with a subsequent 3-month stay in the bottle before being marketed.

Very intense ruby red color, it has a complex and varied bouquet on the nose with sustained hints of ripe black fruits such as blackberry and morello cherry and finished with pleasant vanilla notes. Of great intensity on the palate, it retains a good structure and a compact body capable of ensuring sip density and persistence.

Ideal in combination with cold cuts platters, it refines many specialties of regional cuisine by perfectly marrying game dishes, roasts and meat sauces.
