Bolgheri Superiore DOC Sondraia 2020 Poggio al Tesoro

Bolgheri Superiore Sondraia di Poggio al Tesoro is born in vineyards that extend along via Bolgherese and via Le Sondraie, in the heart of the renowned Bolgheri DOC.

It is mainly produced with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and with Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested exclusively by hand in the second half of September. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28-30 ° C for a period of 12 days. After malolactic fermentation in barriques at a temperature of 22 ° C, the wine ages for 18 months in French Allier oak barriques, partly new.

Ruby red in color, it opens to the nose with a complex bouquet of aromatic herbs, enriched with strong fruity notes of blackberry, cherry and plum. On the palate there is a fresh balsamic trace that gives a fresh, harmonious and silky sip.

Perfect in combination with grilled meats, including Chianina and skewered and roasted, this Bolgheri red lends itself to accompany medium-aged cheeses and smoked ricotta.
