Bolgheri Superiore DOC Marianova 2021 Michele Satta

Marianova, a Bolgheri Superiore DOC, represents the first experience of the second Satta generation, with a balanced blend of Syrah and Sangiovese. This wine marks a novelty for the Bolgheri area, being the first Bolgheri Superiore not to include Bordeaux grapes in its blend. Its first vintage is 2015, and comes from the Vignanova vineyard.

The vinification takes place in concrete barrels with 30% of the whole bunch, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques. The wine matures for 18 months in 750 liter amphorae and barriques.

Marianova has a complex olfactory profile, with notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices and a light hint of vanilla, resulting from aging in barrique. On the palate, it stands out for its balanced structure, soft tannins and a persistent freshness that reflects the elegance of the Bolgheri terroir. The aromatic finesse is complemented by nuances of chocolate and tobacco, which blend into a long and harmonious finish.

This wine is ideal for accompanying intense and structured dishes, taking advantage of its ability to pair well with a wide range of flavours, from red meat to aged cheeses, offering a complex and satisfying tasting experience.
