Description
Bolgheri Superiore Argentiera represents one of the symbolic wines of Tenuta Argentiera. This wine was born in the famous Bolgheri Doc, in vineyards positioned at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level.
It is produced with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested by hand between September and October, vinified separately. The fermentation and maceration processes take place in stainless steel tanks for about 30 days. The wines are then transferred to French Allier and Troncais oak barriques, to complete the malolactic fermentation and mature for about 18 months. A long refinement in the bottle of about 12 months follows.
Bolgheri Superiore Argentiera is characterized by an intense and bright ruby red. The nose boasts a rare complexity, with fruity notes of cherry and plum that blend with interesting aromas of almond, pepper and nutmeg, enriched with fresh balsamic sensations of mint and eucalyptus. The finish with hints of cocoa and blond Virginia tobacco complete a harmonious and fascinating olfactory picture. In the mouth it is a balanced wine, thanks to an excellent flavor and an exceptional freshness which absorb the high alcohol content. Sensations of plum and berries then accompany towards a persistent finish with pleasant aromatic notes, which elegantly complete the tasting.
It goes very well with important dishes such as grilled and roasted red meats. It is ideal for moments of meditation.
