Description

Bolgheri Villa Donoratico was born in the splendid vineyards of Tenuta Argentiera, in the famous and prestigious DOC Bolgheri.

This wine is produced with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes, harvested between the beginning of September and the first week of October, vinified separately. After a 20-day maceration and fermentation in steel, the wine is left to ferment and mature in French Allier and Tronçais oak barriques for about 14 months. It follows an ageing in bottle of about 9 months.

It has an intense ruby red colour, with purple veiled textures. On the nose it is a wine of rare complexity, with fruity hints of plum, blueberry and raspberry which are accompanied by notes of mint, eucalyptus and sage, enriched with spicy hints of cocoa, black pepper and nutmeg, to leave space in the final sensations of rosemary. In the mouth it is elegant, thanks to a fine and structured tannin due to the evolution in wood. The finish is persistent, with aromatic notes that bind to fresh mineral sensations.

Perfect if paired with elaborate dishes such as grilled red meats, stewed meats and roasts, it is also excellent with well-aged cheeses.
