Description
Bolgheri Varvàra is the wine in which Castello di Bolgheri has placed all the elegance, classicism but also the freshness of a special and renowned terroir for a more immediate and sunny product. Born in 2005 in the vineyards of the Tuscan company in the Bolgheri area, it owes its name to Baroness Varvara Wrangel, wife of Count Ugolino della Gherardesca.
Obtained from a skilful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot grapes, hand-picked and carefully selected, this product is vinified very delicately through pumping over and racking. Fermentation takes place in steel vats, while the evolution takes place in barriques for 14 months.
Varvàra has a dark ruby red colour. The nose offers a great fragrance, with notes of red fruit and sensations of withered flowers and spices, such as black pepper, chocolate, coffee. In the mouth it shows an enchanting elegance and freshness, with a well-distributed and never intrusive tannic texture, and a finish of excellent persistence.
To be drunk just bought or within 6 years, this Bolgheri goes very well with many dishes of traditional Italian cuisine. On all roasts and red meats.
