Description
The Bolgheri Rosso Campo al Mare of Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari was born in the vineyards of the homonymous estate, located in the Livorno town of Castagneto Carducci, near the sea.
It is mainly produced with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes, harvested between the first and second half of September. The grapes are left to macerate for about 12-15 days at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C. Alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation follow, which takes place in stainless steel wine vessels. The wine is then placed in French oak barriques, where it ages for about 12 months, then it is refined in the bottle for at least another 3 months.
It is characterized by an intense ruby red color with purple hues. The nose opens with hints of small red fruits, enriched with hints of licorice and wooden notes on the closure. In the mouth it reveals full, velvety, great drinkability and with a pleasant and long final persistence.
Perfect to accompany white and red meats, it is ideal in combination with medium-aged cheeses.
