Description

The Sardinian Gin Boigin is produced by Silvio Carta, a historic Sardinian winery located in the production area of Vernaccia di Oristano.

Gin includes the addition of orange, mandarin and lemon peels. The juniper galbuli are collected manually and transported in special containers made with intertwined reeds to prevent them from being crushed or skinned. The discontinuous distillation takes place in copper stills. The infusion is heated very slowly and for the whole duration of the distillation the thermal condition is maintained at a temperature just above the evaporation of the alcoholic part. The distillate thus obtained is a transparent, colorless liquid with a high alcohol content (about 80) which must rest for at least a month in order to obtain total homogenization. It is bottled after dilution to bring the alcohol content to 40%.

Transparent and clear in the glass, the nose recalls the scents of juniper and citrus. The sip is fresh, soft and delicate.

Ideal in the preparation of cocktails, it can also be enjoyed straight or with ice.
