Description
The Boca of the Le Piane winery was born in vineyards located in the extraordinary terroir of Boca, between Valsesia and Lake Orta, in the province of Novara. This area is known to benefit from the influences of the mild microclimate of the Pre-Alps, which gives the grapes excellent ripening.
It is mainly produced with Nebbiolo and Vespolina grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation on the skins takes place partly in barriques and partly in stainless steel tanks for 30 days, with manual punching down 1-2 times a day. Subsequently the wine ages in oak barrels for 3-4 years and for a further year in the bottle before being placed on the market.
It is characterized by an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose opens with elegant aromas of violet, enriched by pleasant hints of wild berries and pomegranate, with nuances of licorice and tobacco. On the palate it is elegant and complex, fascinating, with an elegant and powerful finish.
Perfect to accompany pasta and risotto with meat and game sauce, it is ideal in combination with roasts and aged cheeses.
