Description
La Witte from the La Trappe Trappist brewery
La Witte is a Trappist lager beer from the La Trappe Trappist brewery, which takes its name from the La Trappe abbey in Normandy, produced according to tradition by Trappist monks. It is the first blonde Trappist beer to be produced.
How is Witte made?
This beer is made with malted barley, hops, water, yeast and glucose syrup.
Sight, nose, eye and palate
Light yellow in color, Witte is a light, thirst-quenching beer with a slightly sour streak. There are aromas of flowers, citrus, peach and apricot. The sip is quite sweet, with a delicate bitter finish that gives it cleanliness and freshness.
What do you combine Witte with?
This beer goes well with fresh cheeses, including goat's, fish and shellfish.
