Description
The Petalos of Descendientes de Jose Palacios is made for more than 90% with Mencia grapes from the region of Castile and Leon.
The vineyards are located near El Bierzo, the north-western area of Spain composed of a hilly agglomeration with different exposures and mainly affected by the Atlantic continental climate. Produced from vines over 40 years of age, the grapes are fermented before returning a wine to be aged for a further 10 months in oak.
Intense ruby red in color with violet reflections, it retains aromas ranging from wet herbs to earthy and graphite scents. The red fruits appear on the palate for a strong and harmonious taste, with balsamic notes on the bottom and perfectly balanced through gentle tannins and a pleasant acidity.
Excellent for blue cheeses, it lends itself perfectly to veal and lamb accompanied by slightly spicy sauces.
