Description
The Barossan of the Peter Lehman winery comes from pure Shiraz grapes obtained from the Barossa Valley located in the south-eastern part of Australia.
After the selection of the bunches from different qualitatively distinct plots, the must ferments and macerates in contact with the skins for at least two weeks with a partial fermentation in cask. A further 12 months of aging in French and American oak follow.
The result is an intense ruby red wine, capable of expressing complex notes of blackberry jam and ripe plum on the nose, followed on the palate by a fine spiciness based on black pepper and cardamom. Well integrated toasted hints let appear notes of sweet cocoa, for a full body, with velvety tannins, great structure and a long finish.
Surely it is the ideal wine for dishes cooked on the barbecue and capable of supporting even first courses based on elaborate ragù.
