Description
The Santa Maria La Morra winery is one of the oldest and richest in history in the Langhe. Poderi Oddero has its roots at the end of the 18th century and still represents the traditional face of Barolo today, in its elegant classicism. The estate covers about 35 hectares, with plots in the famous crus of Brunate, Rocche di Castiglione, Bussia, Vigna Rionda and Villero.
Barolo Rocche di Castiglione was born in one of the most popular terroirs of Castiglione Falletto. The vineyard is over 50 years old and is located at an altitude of 250 meters with a south-east exposure. The best bunches, selected first in the vineyard and then in the cellar, are fermented with maceration on the skins. The wine ages for 30 months in 20-hectolitre oak barrels and is refined for one year in the bottle.
Ruby red in color, it has aromas of officinal herbs, licorice root, balsamic hints, raspberry and cherry aromas. Elegant and harmonious, it has fine tannins, enveloping and complex aromas.
To be combined with braised agnolotti, game, roasted red meats.
