Description
The Barolo Riserva Bussia is produced by Fratelli Barale, a winery that has been producing wine in the municipality of Barolo since the end of the 19th century. Today Eleonora and Gloria Barale lead the company. Bussia is one of the largest and most famous crus of the Barolo appellation.
The grapes are normally harvested in mid-October, to then be destemmed and softly pressed. Fermentation and maceration take place in thermoregulated 50 hl oak vats for approx. 30 days. The wine then ages for 3 years in 50 hl French oak barrels. There is also a subsequent refinement of 2 years in demijohns. The wine is finally bottled without clarification or stabilization and remains in the bottle for at least 12 months.
Ruby red in color with garnet reflections, the wine has a broad and ethereal nose, with hints of dried rose and violet, spicy and tar notes. The sip is dry and of great structure, velvety and harmonious.
This Barolo Riserva goes very well with roasted red meats and noble poultry, game, braised meats and aged cheeses.
