Description
The Barolo Vigna La Rosa di Fontanafredda was born in vineyards located on the Langhe hills, in the heart of Piedmont.
It is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, harvested and selected only by hand. Fermentation takes place, with maceration for 20-30 days, in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 24 months in cask and for another 18 months in bottle, before being placed on the market.
The Barolo Vigna La Rosa di Fontanafredda has an intense ruby red color, with garnet reflections. It opens to the nose with ample and intense floral aromas of dried rose and violet, with notes of tobacco and vanilla and a subtle hint of undergrowth. On the palate it is soft and velvety, with a dense tannic texture and a fruity finish, balanced by a fresh acidity.
Perfect in combination with red meat dishes and medium or long-aged cheeses, it is ideal as a meditation wine.
