Description

Barolo Serralunga d'Alba by Fontanafredda was born in the Piedmontese municipality of the same name, in the province of Cuneo.

It is obtained from pure Nebbiolo grapes, harvested and selected by hand during the first two decades of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 27-28 °C for 15 days and with frequent pumping over. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and 12 months in concrete.

Fontanafredda's Barolo Serralunga d'Alba has an intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections. It opens on the nose with hints of dried flowers and berries, with notes of sweet spices. On the palate it is full, velvety and dry, with a harmonious and persistent finish.

Perfect in combination with red meat dishes and medium and long aged cheeses, it is ideal as a meditation wine.
