Description

Vietti's Barolo Monvigliero is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes from the cru of the same name, considered the most prestigious in Verduno and one of the most important in the Barolo area. The vines, with an average age of 65 years, are located at about 240 meters above sea level on silty soils with the presence of Marne di Sant'Agata, exposed to the south/southwest.

The vinification involves an alcoholic fermentation of about 20 days in steel tanks, with the use of about 60% whole bunches. The cold pre-fermentation maceration precedes the fermentation, which takes place in contact with the skins and with regular pumping over. The malolactic fermentation takes place in wood and the wine ages for about 24 months in oak barrels.

It has a delicate but deep ruby red color. On the nose it offers a refined bouquet of ripe red fruits, wild strawberry, rose and subtle notes of cocoa. On the palate it is elegant and harmonious, with silky tannins and a persistent finish, enriched by fresh spicy notes that enhance its complexity.

It is ideal to pair with game dishes, red meats and mature cheeses.
