Description
The Barolo Massara di Castello di Verduno is born in vineyards located in the municipality of Verduno, in the province of Cuneo.
It is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats, with maceration for 35 days in contact with the skins. Subsequently the wine ages for 32 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and then for 2 months in steel tanks, followed by a period of aging in bottle lasting 21 months.
It is characterized by a bright ruby red color. The nose is broad and balsamic, with fruity notes of jam and cherry in alcohol which blend well with hints of pepper, thyme, geranium and violet. In the mouth it is fresh and full-bodied, with soft tannins and a pleasantly long and balanced finish.
Perfect to accompany mushroom risotto, stewed and roasted meats, it is ideal in combination with game and aged cheeses.
