Description
Barolo Ginestra Casa Maté by Elio Grasso is one of the most prestigious labels of a leading producer in the Monforte d'Alba area. The wine is the fruit of forty-year-old vines cultivated in the famous Ginestra cru, at an altitude of about 300-350 meters, with a sunny south-facing exposure, on predominantly calcareous-clayey soils.
At the end of the manual harvest, the best grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with frequent pumping over. The wine ages for at least 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and ends with 10 months in the bottle.
It is a Barolo with a strong personality, structured and deep, with a garnet color and aromas of small ripe red fruit, spices, undergrowth and humus. On the palate it is powerful and rich, with dense tannins and very persistent aromas.
To be combined with stewed, stewed and braised meats.
