Description

A Barolo of great charm, born in the Monforte d'Alba area. It is here that Elio Grasso manages an estate of about twenty hectares, with parcels located in prestigious crus. The Vigna Chiniera is 35 years old and is located at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level, facing south, on limestone, sand and clay soils.

At the end of the manual harvest, the grapes are fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine rests for a period of at least two years in 25 hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels and rests in the bottle for 10 months before being put on the market.

In the most classic Monforte style, it is an elegant and structured Barolo, with a garnet color and a bouquet of small red fruits, spices and balsamic hints. On the palate it offers a long and deep sip, with fine tannins and complex aromas.

To be combined with stewed meats or braised in red wine.
