Description
Mauro Veglio's Barolo Gattera comes from the areas of La Morra and Castiglione, from soils composed of clay, sand, limestone and very compact brown marl. These pedo-climatic characteristics give the wine a unique structure and notable complexity.
The winemaking process begins with a pre-fermentative maceration at low temperature for 48 hours, followed by fermentation with maceration on the skins in steel at a controlled temperature for 20-25 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in small, partially new oak barrels for 24 months.
It has a pale ruby red color and slight garnet nuances. The sweet spices stand out on the nose, blending harmoniously with ethereal and red fruit notes. On the palate the wine is warm and slightly balsamic, well structured and juicy, with a delicately tannic presence that underlines its elegance.
This Barolo is particularly suitable in combination with beef fillet, roasts or braised meats.
