Description
Roberto Voerzio's Barolo Fossati was born in vineyards located in the municipality of La Morra. The company, founded in 1986, today manages 25 hectares of vineyards.
Produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes, harvested between the end of September and the beginning of October, it is the result of a fermentation that takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Subsequently the wine ages for 24 months in used barriques and large 15 hl barrels, for 8 months in steel and for a further 8 months in the bottle.
It is characterized by a dark garnet colour. The nose opens with intense fruity hints of dark berries, enriched by pleasant spicy notes of licorice, cocoa and chocolate. On the palate it is soft and pleasantly balanced, with a long persistence.
Perfect to accompany first courses and red meats, it is ideal in combination with game and aged cheeses.
