Description
Mauro Veglio's Barolo Castelletto comes from the Castelletto area, a large area located between Monforte d'Alba and the hamlet of Perno, on the border with Serralunga d'Alba.
The winemaking process begins with a pre-fermentative maceration at low temperature for 48 hours, followed by fermentation with maceration on the skins in steel at a controlled temperature for 20-25 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in small, partially new oak barrels for 24 months.
Barolo Castelletto has a ruby red color of good intensity and purple reflections. Notes of red fruits and rose petals, tar, mint and liquorice emerge on the nose. On the palate, the wine is full and balanced, with a persistent finish enriched by notes of blackberry jam and blueberries.
This wine goes excellently with red meats, game and mature cheeses.
