Description
Barolo Bussia is produced by Fratelli Barale, a winery that has been producing wine in the municipality of Barolo since the end of the 19th century. Today Eleonora and Gloria Barale lead the company. The grapes come from the Bussia Soprana vineyard.
The grapes are normally harvested at the beginning of October, to then be destemmed and softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in thermoregulated 50 hl oak vats for approx. 30 days with the use of indigenous yeasts. The wine then ages for 3 years in 15-30 hl French oak barrels. The wine is finally bottled without clarification or stabilization and remains in the bottle for at least 12 months.
Ruby red in color with garnet reflections, the wine has a broad nose, with hints of dried rose, licorice, leather and tobacco. The sip is dry and velvety, with a complex tannic texture and a persistent finish.
This Barolo Bussia goes very well with roasted red meats and noble poultry, game, braised meats and aged cheeses.
