Description
The Barolo of Casa Mascarello is a monument to the testamentary value that the Langa gives us, what is its past, its historical background and, finally, that unique terroir in the world that offers wines that excite with every sip. It is still produced in the historic Cantina in Via 15, with the method of the past, in the sign of a deep-rooted respect for tradition. And that's all this wine wants to symbolize, from the proudly traditionalist label that it is: even when riding the fashion of the moment might seem the easiest way to go, Teresa, Bartolo's daughter, continues to produce this Barolo as her father did. .
Thus, as per tradition, the Barolo of Casa Mascarello is born from the assembly of Nebbiolo grapes harvested and selected from different vineyards. The plants have an average age of 25 years, the harvest is strictly manual and the grapes from the different vineyards are vinified together. After fermentation, the wine is left to macerate on the skins for a couple of more weeks. Refine in large Slavonian oak barrels for 30 months, acquiring all the aromas and flavors of what will be a rare wine. Casa Mascarello's Barolo is a wine with extraordinary aging potential, which can continue to give its best for several decades.
It is a wine that cannot be forgotten, with its garnet red color and its hints of ripe fruit and black fruit. Its austere, classic and traditionalist profile makes it a timeless classic, a collector's item for every enthusiast and, as the writer Cesare Pavese would say, “Three noses are what it takes for Barolo”.
Ideal to drink in meditation or in combination with an excellent braised meat.
