Description
Few wines like Barolo are able to tell the territory, and the Barolo of Serralunga d'Alba by Schiavenza speaks of a company that has been able to grow over time while maintaining its identity, concentrating its energies on a production of red wines only.
As per tradition, even in the Schiavenza vineyards Nebbiolo is one of the last grapes to be harvested, and to obtain an even more complex result, the late manual harvest of the bunches is chosen. Fermentation for 15–20 days follows with frequent decanting and ageing in wooden barrels, which makes Barolo di Serralunga one of the longest-lived of the company.
Great structure and dry and full flavour with pleasant spicy notes make this Barolo austere and important, perfect for making a good impression with a guest who knows about wine.
This Barolo is a high-level wine that deserves important combinations such as beef roast beef, grilled ribs and pit cheeses.
