Description
The Pira family has been present on the hills of Serralunga d'Alba since the nineteenth century and still today cultivates vineyards and produces great wines, which represent the classic face of Barolo. The estate can count on plots of considerable prestige managed with great care and craftsmanship.
Barolo Serralunga is the traditional label. It is a wine that comes from the assembly of a selection of grapes harvested in the vineyards of Margheria, Marenca and Vigna Rionda, located within the municipal area of Serralunga d'Alba. It represents the authentic face of a great terroir, which has always been appreciated for its highly structured, austere and deep reds. At the end of the red vinification, with a maceration on the skins for 15 days, the wine matures for 24 months in large 25-hectolitre wooden barrels.
Garnet in color, it expresses spicy aromas, of red fruit and humus. On the palate it is rich, with an important tannic texture and a persistent finish.
To be paired with roasted red meats and stewed game.
