Description
The King of Piedmontese wines saw the light right within the ancient walls of the cellars of Marchesi di Barolo. After almost two centuries of history, the brand is still a symbol of the great wines of the Langhe. The winery manages a large estate with plots of extraordinary value, located in the most prestigious areas of the appellation.
The vineyard grown in the famous Cannubi cru gives grapes of extraordinary richness and balance, thanks to an ideal microclimate and clay soils and sands rich in limestone, the famous Sant'Agata marls. The best bunches are fermented with maceration on the skins for about ten days. The Barolo ages for a period of at least 2 years in large Slavonian oak barrels and in French oak barriques, before finishing the ageing in the bottle.
It is ruby red with garnet reflections, with aromas of dried rose petals, spices, medicinal herbs and red fruits. On the palate it is elegant, with lively tannins and complex and very persistent aromas.
To combine with roasted and braised meats and game.
