Description

Michele Chiarlo's Nizza LaCourt hails from the eponymous estate nestled in the scenic municipality of Castelnuovo Calcea, in the province of Asti. As one of the most emblematic wines produced by the winery, it has become a symbol of the estate's excellence in Piedmontese winemaking.

It is produced exclusively with Barbera grapes, carefully harvested and selected by hand. Fermentation takes place with maceration on the skins in oak barrels at a controlled temperature of 27-30 °C for 12 days. The wine is then aged in small and large oak barrels for 12 months and in bottle for at least 15 months.

The wine has an intense ruby red colour. The nose opens with elegant aromas of sour cherry, raspberry and black fruits, enriched with notes of coffee and tobacco. On the palate it is complex, structured and enveloping, pleasantly fresh and velvety.

It is the perfect accompaniment for first courses with meat sauce and meat-based dishes, as well as game birds and mature cheeses.
