Description
The Barbera d'Asti Superiore Lequilibrio comes from the vineyards located in the municipality of Castagnole Monferrato, in the province of Asti.
It is produced with only Barbera grapes, harvested exclusively by hand. Fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature, with a stay on the skins for at least 12 days. The wine ages for 15-18 months in barriques, tonneaux and large Allier oak barrels. This is followed by a month of ageing in steel and a further 6-8 months in the bottle before being put on the market.
Wine with an intense ruby red colour, it offers hints of raspberry and currant to the nose, enriched by persuasive notes of bitter chocolate and undergrowth. In the mouth it is soft and enveloping, with good balance, with a finish of remarkable persistence.
This wine is perfect to accompany game, both furred and feathered, as well as flavoured and blue aged cheeses.
