Description

The Conterno family has been cultivating vineyards in the Langhe since the early 1900s. The winery is located in Monforte d'Alba and its labels represent one of the highest qualitative peaks, not only in Piedmont but in the entire peninsula.

The wine is born in an exceptional terroir, the Vigna Francia is located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, where a historic vine like Barbera expresses itself on exceptional quality levels. At the end of the manual harvest, the best bunches are vinified with long maceration on the skins. Before bottling, the wine ages for 20 months in large oak barrels.

It is a dark red Barbera, which surprises for its structure and elegance, with aromas of dark berry fruit, wild blackberry, berry jam and spicy nuances. On the palate it is harmonious, with a rich fruit and a fresh and persistent finish.

To combine with savory first courses and roasts.
