Description
Mauro Veglio's Barbera d'Alba Cascina Nuova is produced from land located adjacent to the Arborina cru, between 250 and 300 meters above sea level.
The winemaking process involves fermentation with maceration on the skins in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for approximately 30 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. Subsequently, the wine ages in small, partially new, second and third passage oak barrels for 18 months.
It has an intense ruby red color. The nose is broad and enveloping, with aromas of plum jam and elderflower. The taste is powerful and vigorous, well balanced between concentration and freshness, characterized by a beautiful minerality.
This wine pairs perfectly with cured meats, soups and boiled meats.
