Description
Michele Chiarlo's Barbera d'Asti Le Orme originates from a selection of the Montemareto, Montaldo Scarampi and Costa vineyards. located in the southern area of Asti.
It is the result of only Barbera grapes, harvested only by hand. The must ferments in steel tanks, with maceration on its skins for 10 days. Once the malolactic fermentation is over, the wine ages in steel and wood for at least 16 months.
The color is ruby red with violet reflections. The nose brings elegant and intense fruity notes, among which ripe cherry and currant stand out. The taste is balanced, with a good structure, completed by a nice sapidity in the finish.
He loves first courses with tomato sauce and Livorno-style fish, but he doesn't mind pizza and white meats either.
